At stake is the glorious heritage of Assamese culture (already 42 Satras vanished) and also an agro-horticulture and oil rich part of the country.

Population is increasing inspite of exodus due to displacement, and Per capita cultivable land holding is diminishing Consequent threat on culture, socio-economy & ecology.

Only 21 Satras are existing out of a total 65.

Due to depletion of landmass and lack of Pvt./Public investments, frequent migration of displaced people.
